Technician

Padgett’s Motorcycles established in 1958 is a third-generation family business and we are looking to grow our team.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Motorcycle Technician to join our current workshop team.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for motorcycles and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of new Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Used motorcycles.

Duties of this role include but are not exclusive:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on motorcycles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) to new and used motorcycles and ensure that they are road-ready.
  • Install genuine and aftermarket parts and accessories as requested by customers.
  • Perform electronic health checks (EVHC) on all motorcycles.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest motorcycle technologies and repair methods.
  • Carry out any other tasks that will, from time to time, be allocated by the Aftersales Manager.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience as a motorcycle technician or mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of motorcycle mechanics, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under time constraints.
  • A valid motorcycle license.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be able to communicate clearly with both the aftersales adviser, other technicians and customers.
  • A positive can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
  • Manufacturer training preferred.

Working Week

Monday to Friday 8:30 until 5:30pm (with 30 minutes for lunch)

Saturdays working 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am until 4:30pm
